What is a prosumer and what theory does it link to? 

  • prosumer - an individual that both produces and consumes the product 
  • Wikinomics theory - the way in which global economics have changed due to the media
  • Tapscott + Williams (2006) - prosumer and wikinomics 
  • Web 2.0 - interactive web, comments etc, could become prosumers 

How does globalisation link to social media? 

  • it allows different cultures to shared on a mass class universally 
  • globalisation: 
    • captialism - making money 
    • ideology - cultural imperialism - dominant cultures can spread ideas and destroy smaller cultures 
  • can distribute globally - adverts, making money
