  • Can be used to describe the ways in which new technologies have enabled audiences to have choice over the amount of media they can access. 
  • Not just mass/popular but niche. 
  • Was initially related to music streaming but can now be related to video on demand. 
  • Where wikinomics. 
  • Now have access to everything (infinite).
  • the same amount of money can be made by smaller, niche artists as a few more popular artists (economy).
